Dear Kristi:
I am applying for the night shift coordinator position. I have been a practicing RN the past 4 yrs and have recently acquired my Bachelors in Nursing Science from Ferris State University. I am an enthusiastic, motivated candidate with all the skills necessary to take the next step as a team leader in your emergency department and continue my career as a professional and compassionate nurse. I am available for employment as soon as possible.
In my past rotations, I worked on several units including medical-surgical, Long Term care, pediatrics, oncology, ER, and obstetrics. I have also had the opportunity to have been selected in Munson Medical Center's critical care internship which allowed me to learn and care for critical care patients. My educational and professional experiences have taught me to manage a variety of patients with complex clinical issues, as well as provide my patients and their family members with educational and emotional support. I feel the use of my organizational skills and my work history would translate well to your unit as shift coordinator. I developed a love of nursing and its capacity to improve the lives of patients in a way which is unique to this profession. As I developed my nursing skills my peers have come to me as someone they can rely on for help and knowledge.
I realize as a nurse there is much to learn and many challenges in the healthcare industry. I believe that my past experience has made me successful in many of those challenging situations. I hope that you will consider my application for a position so that I may continue that journey in an institution that celebrates intellectual and professional development while providing exceptional patient care. If you hire me, I will dedicate myself to learning all I can, and to working hard to maintain the Hospital’s exceptional standards. Thank you in advance for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you regarding any possible employment opportunities. I would welcome an interview and can submit my references at your convenience. You may reach me at 231-384-1968.
Sincerely,
Charlie Dietrich
